Our 3 week Understanding Media makeup module incorporates the 3 main parts, each 1 week long: Fundamentals of Media makeup, Fashion makeup & Period makeup for film & TV.

Our Period Wig & Hair Styling module Is a perfect module for both experienced and beginner makeup artists, serving as a refresher but also as an excellent period wig setting & styling foundation module.

Throughout the 4 weeks of our SFX course you will learn about creating cuts, bruises & other casualty makeup techniques, as part of our 1 week of Casualty makeup course, followed by learning all about Prosthetic makeup, from doing life casting, moulding, sculpting, painting & applying the prosthetics pieces, during the 3 weeks of our Prosthetics module

Barbering skills are important for a trainee makeup artist and our Barbering module covers all essential skills you will need on a film set. You will learn about barbering kits and products, handling barbering clippers, different barbering techniques, and also about different period styling.

Learn about different beard shapes and sizes, how to measure a beard and how to lay on and dress facial hair. You will be taught by leading UK film designers and artists and cover different facial hair period styles and techniques.

Breaking down a script and learning about continuity is very important for a trainee makeup artist and we teach these skills in the final 2 weeks of our 4 Month course. During this week our students will also start prepping & creating their looks for the Bootcamp week, the final week at the Academy, when they need to complete these looks in timed conditions, that mimic the conditions on set. Our Tutor will be on hand to guide them, so they can benefit from their feedback.
