This question is asked a number of times when people are searching for a makeup school to train to become a film or TV hair and makeup artist.
When you begin a journey of researching which Make up school to attend, it often helps to compare what various make up schools may be able to offer you. We always suggest creating a list of all schools you have visited and writing down what each one can offer and what are the differences or unique points that they may have.
Which brings us neatly to the only Award-Winning Hair and Makeup Designer to oversee her own Make up school: Oscar & BAFTA Winner , Christine Blundell, our Principal
Our Principal designs hair and makeup for a number of films and TV Series each year and all our 4 Month Film & TV hair, makeup & SFX course graduates, who are eligible to work in the UK benefit from doing paid on set experience on these films.
If you choose to join our 4 Month course, you will benefit from this, too. Many of our graduates get asked to work as Crowd or Main team trainees alongside other, more experience makeup artists.

Yet it does not stop there. You will be surrounded by some of the most influential makeup artists in the film TV industry It is your chance to shine and show everyone how good you are as a makeup trainee. What a good team player and communicator you are. It really is a fantastic networking opportunity.
You will be able to impress the Crowd Supervisor with all that you have learnt at the makeup school.
During the course you will be taught by some of the most influential makeup artists and designers in the industry. They will be teaching you not just the skills you need to know but set etiquette, what one should and should not do.
Equally important, you will be able to impress the tutor as they too are on the lookout for a new makeup trainee.
What we say at CB*MA is that is not just a makeup school. We treat the Academy as if it is a Crowd room, the tutor is the crowd supervisor, and you are working for them. It is a working environment, and It is Vital that you understand how to behave, time keeping, being a team player.
The expression “If you are on time, you are late!” Is a good adage. It does not look good arriving exactly the time the tutor starts a demo. You should come in earlier, we have a lovely kitchen at the make up school. It is good to get ready for the day, ensure that your station is ready and you have all the mood boards, wigs pro bondo pieces or whatever you are doing that day. Also help your fellow students; maybe one or two are running late due to train cancellations, ensure that the make up tutor has everything.
Why not make tea and coffee for everyone if you have the time? Even Christine Blundell Award winning Designer makes tea and coffee for her team when she has the time!
Imagine completing your training and being offered a contract to work on films such as “Beetlejuice” “The Gentlemen” “Aladdin” “Wonder Woman.”
This happens here and at no other make up school! Have a look at the video when Christine chose 2 recent graduates for her latest film “Fuze” with Aaron Taylor Johnson Click here
