Funding Options Available to You – CB*MA 4 Month Film & TV Hair, Makeup & SFX Course
There are various funding options available to our prospective students, with the main ones listed below.
After you decide to join our 4 Month course,
following a successful interview, a non-refundable deposit of £1,500 is required to secure your place.
The remaining balance of £11,400 (incl. VAT) can be paid in 5-6 monthly instalments, as long as the last instalment is paid before the end of your course. Total price of our 4 Month course is £12,900, inclusive of VAT and all materials that you will use on the course.

Included in this price are your personal set bag and professional kit with Kryolan , Maqpro & Crown palettes, Louise Young Makeup Brushes, as well as access to our stock of leading brand products . All materials at the school are at your disposal and our Academy will be your home for the duration of the course.
Your will be taught by our Team of leading UK Makeup Designers and Artists during the intensive 4 month training, equivalent to 480 teaching hours and you can see their professional careers on our Tutors’ page.
In addition, all our graduates are offered ‘Guaranteed Paid Onset Experience’ after finishing their course, as well as great networking opportunities.

Ideal 4 Finance Personal Loans
We are happy to announce a new Loan scheme that we can offer to our students. We have teamed up with Ideal 4 Finance personal loans provider and we hope that it will make your journey in gaining a loan simpler.

The loans are taken out over different time periods, depending on your personal credit rating and other factors – as an example a £13,000 loan taken over 6 years may result in you paying around £200 – £300 a month (including interest / APR rate ) , but do check with Ideal 4 Finance or contact us first .
Screenskills Bursaries
ScreenSkills now provides training bursaries for both established and beginner Makeup Artists of up to £3,000 towards the cost of all courses that carry Skills Passport quality mark.
You can apply for a bursary if you can confirm that all the following statements are accurate:
- I am eligible to work in the UK
- I have a UK bank account
- I am 18 years old or above
- I currently work in the UK screen industries or I can demonstrate my intention to work in the UK screen industries
Christine Blundell Makeup Academy is proud to announce that 6 of our short hair and makeup courses are eligible for the ScreenSkills bursary.
This is a great opportunity for all potential makeup students to get help with payments towards one of our hair, makeup or SFX courses.
Six courses listed below are all part of our 4 Month course modules so the bursary that a student is awarded for each of these short courses counts towards the overall 4 Month course fee.
- The 5-week Period Makeup & Wigs course, is our latest course that has been designed by our Principal Christine Blundell that will provide you with fantastic hair and makeup skills. Starting on 20th January 2025.
- Our 4 week Special Effects course, with 1 week of Casualty & 3 weeks of Prosthetics, is a unique collaboration between award winning SFX Designer Kristyan Mallett’s KM Effects Studio and our Academy. With award winning SFX tutors, it is a great opportunity to learn some amazing SFX skills. Next course starts on 21st October 2024.
- Our next Afro and textured Hair Skills 1 week course starts on 18th November 2024. Afro and textured hair skills are very much in demand at the moment and if your bursary application is successful , your £1000 bursary will completely cover the cost of the course.
- 1 week Facial hair skills course, will teach you all you need to know about beards, moustaches, learning how to ‘lay on’ facial hair and other techniques. It starts on 25th November 2024.
- Our Intensive 1 week Barbering skills course , that starts on 2nd December 2024, will provide you with basic barbering skills for film and TV trainee makeup artist role.
- The 3-week Complete Media Makeup course, starting on 6th January 2025, will give you a solid grounding in all you need to know about contemporary makeup, fashion and period makeup.
You may only apply for up to £3,000 of funding per financial year but you can apply for more than one course. The training course must start at least one day after your application is made – ScreenSkills cannot accept applications for training which has already begun.
CB*MA is happy to offer you admin assistance with your bursary application if you choose to apply to one of our courses listed above.
Other Funding Options
- Christine Blundell Makeup Academy Interest Free Payment Plan: In some instances, we will be able to assist you by offering interest free payment plans, with £1,500 deposit fee due prior to the start of the course and the remaining balance of £11,400 divided into 5-6 monthly instalment payments. - Prince’s Trust Development Awards: Prince’s Trust Development Awards can help to cover costs such as: course fees, transport or equipment to help you achieve your plan to get into education, training or employment. If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can receive up to £500. For more information click here

- Vegetarian Charity Grants:Vegetarian Charity also offers grants for commited vegetarians or vegans who are under 26 years old, more information is on this link.
The Royal Television Society Bursary Scheme
The RTS wants the television industry to reflect the exciting, diverse and talented voices of the Britain of today, and that starts by changing the industry from the inside out. The scheme was launched in 2013 by their Royal Patron, the Prince of Wales and you can find more information about it on this link.
The Bafta Scholarship
- We are proud to announce that our Four Month Hair & Makeup Course is now eligible for BAFTA Scholarship Programme – the scheme is now closed and will reopen in spring of 2025. Applicants can apply for the Scholarship and receive up to £12,000 towards the fees of your course. The closing date is usually last week of May.
- The BAFTA UK scholarship programme is open to British citizens in need of financial assistance to study eligible undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the UK.
- Please note that the number of annual BAFTA Scholarships are very limited, so please don’t be disappointed if your application is unsuccessful.
